Friday. Chair 5. Chris put me on.
I was invited in the center, but immediately they had a change of plans for my chair and had to wait to get the person out of that chair and clean it up. So, I weighed in, looked for a chair to sit, and then sat by Roger and chatted.
3:11pm all set.
3:49pm I had been noticing that my machine had a yellow light instead of a green indicating my machine was filtering well. The techs were busy getting everyone on for this shift. I tried to get someone's attention but knew I wasn't in dire need.
3:53pm Finally got Sara who gave me a big explanation that didn't match with previous experience, but at least she was aware of my dilemma. It led me to find out I was on the crit line today. I thought I was only going to be on it last time. Apparently they were confirming my dry weight. She thinks the crit line was confusing the machine. She said I was running 500 which is perfect.
4:07pm Sara came back because she realized the problem was one of the numbers that needs to be put in the machine was not put in the machine. Sounds like it didn't have the parameter to tell the machine whether it was doing a good job or not, and that is the REAL reason why it was running with a yellow light. Shew! Now that sounded right!
7:33pm I was all done, weighed in, and packed ready to leave the lab.
7:35pm I was not feeling great. I had sat after I weighed in to feel better.

Tuesday. Chair 7. Sara
2:09: Sara had scar tissue problems and had to adjust the needles and retape. Okay now.
2:10pm Getting headphones on with one hand as usual.
2:31pm Found out I am on the crit line and I haven't been for a month. I knew they stopped telling me I had 10 minutes left, but I didn't know it was because I wasn't on the crit line. The study is over and although we have crit lines, they are expensive to put in use, so they don't use them...
6:12pm About to hold. Heather held.
6:41pm Out of lab, in lobby.

Sunday. (Thanksgiving week is different days. Sun. Tues, Fri.) I happened to get asked if I wanted an early chair too!! Chair 4. Sara
They took me in early, like 11:18am, but it took Sara a while to get me on. She had to set up and helped other people.
11:36am When Sara put the needles in the top one hurt a little the bottom one didn't. It was okay pretty quickly, but did take until after the needle had been in a bit.
11:49am All Set with tubes going.
12:50pm: Alarm gone off 3 times. Adjusted needles twice.
12:54pm: Doing well Good movies all day.
3:56pm Done dialysing, need to have sites held. Guessing it was Heather.
4:12pm Done holding, now sitting to make sure no leaks because of activity.
4:20 Out of lab, in lobby.

Robin the Doctor's assistant came to see me. Checked in with me....no problems, checked for swelling in legs. Came and said there was a problem, went to the computer came back and on her way back Valery said something. Robin then explained she had made a mistake and it was someone else's file she was looking at, so there wasn't a problem for me.
Valery held. She is so good with taking off the tape so I don't get blisters or welts.

Saw diet lady. Watch phosphorous injected into turkey. Also winter squashes have lots of phosphorous.
Heather held my sites.
7:34pm Done. Sitting. I said come back for me in 5 minutes, and she agreed. Left me never coming back. Never checking on me. After a while I complained and Valery heard me and helped me thought she was with another person.
David forgot me. I texted him and he came.
The family had dinner, told me about it, but didn't leave enough for me. I was frustrated and David got me a burger.

Great tv for a while. Time went by very fast.
LeAnn held. The sites took a while.
7:33 Done and sitting so nothing leaks. I find sitting for 10 minutes can make a difference in not leaking which takes quite a while!

Wednesday. Chair 6. Sara put me on. Leann was in the center. I had been told she wouldn't be there all week...some kind of misunderstanding.
3:29 All set.
The bad tv is replaced. Amazing tv with good buttons and sterio sound. Only problem is sound comes from back and not front, but headphones solve that.
I had been feeling bad for a little while. It kept getting worse. Finally I said something to Valery and she put me on Oxygen.
6:50pm Oxygen has been going.
7:03pm Feeling better finally!
Leann held.

Monday. Chair 5, Sara. Sara no longer requires me to lay back. Just twist my arm and she puts the needles in fine now. She said something negative about the idea of me seeing her and I corrected her that I was glad to see her. I knew that Leslie almost never has done my arm and Angel refuses to do my arm. I knew Sara could do my arm. No pain!
Valerie from the start lowered my goal. That made a big difference. It was supposed to be like 5.9 but she left it on 5 off.
I came in at the new half hour earlier time! ;) Everyone got new times. Some later, some earlier. Glad I got earlier!

Friday. Chair 3. Leann started putting me on, but was interrupted cause Rose who was next to me, passed out. They gave her saline, talked to her, techs came to help, and they gave her oxygen. She revived. Leann is so good at scoping the room for people needing help.

Found out Chris hasn't been taking vacation this month, they are just not putting him on the schedule. Odd. He needs the work.

Wednesday. Chair 12. Heather. She laid me back to do the needles which was unusual. I told her the particulars of my fistula, and no one had told her. Sometimes they do and say, "I know" and sometimes they don't. She didn't hurt me but she didn't tape the needles out as I said, so I worried about that the whole session.
It is good to have Heather back. She is now married and finished helping in Huntington with the person on medical leave. She is back to our facility.
3:21pm I was in.
3:36pm All set with blood going in and out of the tubes.
3:39pm Channel 2 and 3 are switched. Otherwise, all channels are the same as before.
8:01 Finishing holding with Valery. No problems.

4:51pm Finally 2 channels are on!
4:52pm One is CNN and comes in well. The other doesn't come in well.

5:06pm Total of 3 channels are on now.
5:16pm Back to original 2 channels only. CNN is boring to me.
5:20pm Law and Order :(
5:31pm ESPN is the other channel.
6:32pm Nothing to watch but Law and Order and The Office. :(

7:06pm Watching 80's technology on the History Channel.
Sara got a phone call that she passed her test for certification. She was very worried all week. She was thrilled. All the techs have to take it and she took it earlier than most of my techs. My techs take it Thursday. (Nov 5).

Friday. Chair 6. Sara put me on. It took forever to get my blood pressure. After literally about 12 tries, and my complaints about my hand turning red, Sara got someone else to help. Leann unplugged and plugged back in the band. It tried about 3 times and then got the blood pressure.
I asked Sara about her stethoscope. She said she didn't have it today. I said you didn't have it last time either (Friday). She said it has been a hard week. (I think that is why she hurt me so badly last Friday, her lack of her stethoscope).
3:43pm All set. Sara had put my lines practically in my mouth. It was frustrating for quite a while especially when I looked left, and later I had someone else move them and they were fine the rest of the time.
After working hard to get the ear phones I brought on my head with one hand, the plug in was gone on my tv! There was just a hole. I asked the nurse, Valery, about it and she recognized that it hasn't been there on that one. She was aware of that problem in the past apparently. I explained that the one guy who always cares about volume, is next to me, and she said he knows about that tv, implying that he would understand. Later in the day sure enough he complained, and the new nurse Kate asked me to turn it down.
The tv was also hard to maneuver. One time I tried to move it and hurt my finger on the sharp edges. The tv was also crooked so the entire time I had to watch it angled even though I asked for help, and the help tried, and was like, oh well.
Chris was there, but he looked horrible. He was much whiter than usual and his eyes were like blood shot or something. He said he had a really bad headache and it was his sinus' or something. He worked, but also sat with his head in his hands.
Leann was not herself either. She said she was sick. We joked how we could blame it on Chris. They didn't use mouth masks. They won't be working on Monday for vacation reasons I guess.
The best thing of the day is I got my favorite sitting buddy next to me!!! Melissa is fun, and nice and etc. We watched tv together, flipping and telling each other when the other show was on and laughing together for the first few hours. :)
About half way through I was hungry off and on. Then I got a bad headache that turned into a throbbing migrane. I told the nurses. At the end they turned down my goal. It didn't leave me until after I was home, ate, and took pain reliever. Not long after I'd also had water a few hours after being home, I felt better and the headache lifted.
I think it was Sara who held my sites. She needed help from Valery to pull the second needle. The bottom site took longer.
