Friday. Kim. Chair 7.
2:49 Leann is not here, nor my nurse. None of my regular techs. I'll have to have a sharp needle by whomever. Leann is sick with sinus.
3:05 Just called in to the lab. that's 20 minutes in the lobby waiting.
3:35pm All set. Kim did the Bottom Button hole, she had to push very hard, and got it on the third push. Top sharp low needle hurt greatly with incredible pain. Kim put it where I told her but I didn't know it was the sore spot. I yelled. I asked her to take it out. She said some reason why she was going to wait a bit to take it out. It was awful. She took out the needle and then held the site. Soon put on a bandaid. Then top higher sharp not hurt at all.
3:38pm My yelp got the attention of all the lab. Cried a tad. Am okay now. A little sore.
3:46pm Pain has finally subsided.
3:54pm Most of the pain gone. Still a big shook up.
4:56pm Saw Dr. Ducker for the last time.
5:51pm Very hungry
6:58pm Once in a while I get hot instead of cold. Today is one of those days.
Tim the sub nurse was to hold my sites. He wanted to clean the machine first. Then he did all kinds of things touching the machine, the chair, and then he started to sit down to hold my sites after never having changed his gloves! I said you're gonna change your gloves aren't ya? He looked at me. Then without a word he changed his gloves and touched the chair again. I have to care because holding my bloody sites, I don't want an infection!! Especially before transplant!!
Nurse Tim held my sites for a long time discussing classic movies of which I hadn't seen, without checking my sites to see if they were done. Finally after a long while I said that my sites usually don't take that long and he checked and of course they were done. He must have held more than 15 minutes. The movie I was watching ended and I missed the ending. Then I had to wait for him to help me before I could leave my chair. He couldn't work and talk at the same time so here I am extra sitting on, and I have to watch him talk to me while I wait for him to help me. FINALLY I could get on the edge of my chair. He started to put things in my bag, but got the zipper caught instead and I said that is okay, I can pack it to which he put the bag far from me on the counter. I had to go around the chair and tv, to go get the bag to fill it. I usually don't like to move much after dialysis so I don't make my arm bleed, as moving a lot gets my blood flowing and in the past has caused bleeding and more holding needed.
I noticed on Saturday that the sore place which has been incredibly sore even since I got home from dialysis, had black blood on it. I went in to dialyis on Saturday cause I knew that Valery was there and I brought the letters that I made for Chris and Leann since I didn't know if Chris would get it if I didn't bring it in on Saturday for his box. Leslie didn't put it in his box, but rather on Valerie's desk to make sure she gave it to him. I don't understand that.
I asked Valerie about the black blood, what it meant and showed it to her. She said it was probably dried blood and that I was fine. I got to hug her and say goodbye. That was great. I told her I still hoped I could see her on Monday, but she said that it wouldn't happen (she was scheduled to do nocturnal on Sunday night, but had mentioned to Leann that there was a reason it might not happen. Not sure what that was). I'm glad I got to say goodbye since I didn't do that on Wednesday when she was there last. I about cried on the way home. I will miss her.
